See if you can find Bigfoot as he or she roams the course. If you get a picture or video of Bigfoot with your phone, show it to us at the end of the race. You will then be entered in a special raffle for a chance to win prizes.
ALL RUNNERS WILL RECEIVE A WINTER HAT
The course can be muddy, wet, or dry, depending on weather. There will be one creek crossing near the end of the race. Come and enjoy getting dirty!
The Black Cat Strut 5k Trail Run and Non-Competitive 5k Walk, "Race for Buddy," is in honor of our cat, Buddy, who brought great joy to our family. My wife, Rachel, adopted Buddy from the Independent Cat Society in the 1990's. Sadly, he left our lives two years ago, after spending 20 years on this earth. Part of the proceeds of this race will be donated to the ICS. More info about the ICS can be found at www.catsociety.org
We will begin at a new location in 2019 within Red Mill Park. We will start/finish at the ECC building and it can be reached by turning at the second entrance to the park.
Welcome to the 11th Annual Crazy Legs 10k+ Trail Run. The number of runners is limited by my permit, so once the limit is reached, a waitlist will be made. The entry fee allows you into the post race celebration where the award ceremony and raffle are held. There will also be light refreshments, coffee, and you will receive a t-shirt. We will be having our awards ceremony at Dark Heart Coffee Bar in Loveland.
This race is part of the 2019 Crazy Legs Race Series
The scenic 10k+ course is located in Devil’s Backbone Open Space. The finish line will be located in the trail head parking lot. The course has rocks, dirt, hills, other trail users, and wildlife.
Parking: Parking is available at the trail head, but is very limited. Please carpool, if possible.
Timing: Chip timing? No, baby. We are going old school. After crossing the finish line, you will be handed your overall placing on an index card. Please turn this card in ASAP
PLEASE BE AWARE THAT IF THE WEATHER CLOSES THE TRAIL I WILL BE UNABLE TO RESCHEDULE THE DATE. THERE WILL BE NO REFUNDS OR TRANSFERS. THIS IS WHY I MOVED THE RACE TO JUNE.
Jennie Hamilton was a 2003 graduate of Purdue University, Calumet who devoted her all-too-brief life to health and fitness. Jennie had a passion for endurance events and was always searching for tough races to test her abilities. At the time of her death, in the summer of 2006, she was training for the Ironman Triathlon (swim 2.4 miles, bike 112.5 miles, run 26.2 miles) and considering returning to school in the nursing program to further her ability to reach out to others and provide assistance for their health needs.
This race is to honor her memory and continue the legacy she began of health, fitness and education. Part of the proceeds from the race will go towards the Jennie Hamilton Scholarship Fund.
I brought the race back to July so crossing the pond will be a refreshing end to the race.
We are heading to Stoney Run County Park for this year's Santa Dash. You will complete two laps around this park to achieve the 5k distance. The course could contain mud, ice, or snow. Who knows! All runners will receive a Santa Hat, so come on out!
Come experience the beautiful Town of Porter by running this event. This race will be a 2 mile out and back course on pavement streets. We will be starting at the Community Center at Hawthorne Park. Part of the proceeds will be benefitting the Porter Parks and Recreation Department.

You have two shots to knock down all the plastic bowling pins. If you obtain a strike or spare you win.
