Welcome to the 11th Annual Crazy Legs 10k+ Trail Run. The number of runners is limited by my permit, so once the limit is reached, a waitlist will be made. The entry fee allows you into the post race celebration where the award ceremony and raffle are held. There will also be light refreshments, coffee, and you will receive a t-shirt. We will be having our awards ceremony at Dark Heart Coffee Bar in Loveland.
This race is part of the 2019 Crazy Legs Race Series
The scenic 10k+ course is located in Devil’s Backbone Open Space. The finish line will be located in the trail head parking lot. The course has rocks, dirt, hills, other trail users, and wildlife.
Parking: Parking is available at the trail head, but is very limited. Please carpool, if possible.
Timing: Chip timing? No, baby. We are going old school. After crossing the finish line, you will be handed your overall placing on an index card. Please turn this card in ASAP
PLEASE BE AWARE THAT IF THE WEATHER CLOSES THE TRAIL I WILL BE UNABLE TO RESCHEDULE THE DATE. THERE WILL BE NO REFUNDS OR TRANSFERS. THIS IS WHY I MOVED THE RACE TO JUNE.
"RUN FORREST RUN!" Run through the trails within Oak Ridge Prairie in Griffith, Indiana. You may encounter mud, water, or snow, plus the finish line is on top of a hill. This race is part of the 2019 Crazy Legs Race Series.
Start your 2019 off right by running through the streets of the Town of Porter, Indiana. I have rented Hawthorne Park Community Center, so we will be inside for sign ups, packet pick up, post race food, and the award ceremony. Coffee is the name of the game and that means Deathwish Coffee, the "Strongest Coffee in the World," of course . We will have Deathwish Coffee brewing and some snacks as well. We will have a raffle which includes Deathwish Coffee items. Time to be #fueledbydeath. The entry fee includes one raffle ticket and a t-shirt. Coffee mugs are also available for an additional fee.
Jennie Hamilton was a 2003 graduate of Purdue University, Calumet who devoted her all-too-brief life to health and fitness. Jennie had a passion for endurance events and was always searching for tough races to test her abilities. At the time of her death, in the summer of 2006, she was training for the Ironman Triathlon (swim 2.4 miles, bike 112.5 miles, run 26.2 miles) and considering returning to school in the nursing program to further her ability to reach out to others and provide assistance for their health needs.
This race is to honor her memory and continue the legacy she began of health, fitness and education. Part of the proceeds from the race will go towards the Jennie Hamilton Scholarship Fund.
I brought the race back to July so crossing the pond will be a refreshing end to the race.
